video production
I’m a creative director, editor, and science content specialist.
I develop original storytelling and lead art direction, brand identity, and all stages of video production. My work spans editing, post-production, sound design, format adaptation, and AI-enhanced workflows. I bring hands-on design expertise and collaborate with artists, scientists, and organizational leaders to create productions that balance aesthetic quality, scientific accuracy, and audience engagement.
Climate is a Complex System
With the participation of top leading scientists in complexity sciences, we created “Celsius”, a short documentary about climate change as a complex system.
“I don’t know who’s going to see this, but if that message I just communicated helps other people think about climate change differently, then I really appreciate your efforts [in producing this documentary].”
– John Quackenbush, Harvard University
This work was produced during the Conference on Complex Systems 2017 and was further promoted by the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology of Ireland, with special thanks to Gerald Fleming for his invaluable collaboration in facilitating the Irish promotion.
The Complexity of Animal Behavior
“Ateles” is a project on the complex social system of the spider monkeys, Ateles geoffroyi, found in the tropical forests of southern Mexico.
This documentary in four episodes embraces the positive conservationism movement and gathers the voices of local children and environmental educators to inspire positive actions. This series include scientific reports from the National Geographic explorers, Filippo Aureli and Denise Spaan, and members of the Liverpool John Moores University, the Universidad Veracruzana, and the NGO ConMonoMaya.
Part of this work was showcased at the Conservation Symposium in 2018 at the Chester Zoo, in the UK, and during the #AnimalWorldDay 2024 in NatGeo Latam.
Science is our best alternative
Commissioned by Dr. Sara Ladrón de Guevara, former Headmistress of Universidad Veracruzana, “Más allá de la ciencia” (Beyond Science) is Tele UV’s first fully original science series. This 12-episode production offers an immersive exploration of the research, lives, and innovative processes of Universidad Veracruzana’s academic and scientific community. With contributions from students and faculty across all five regional campuses, it marks a milestone for the university’s communications, unifying diverse voices and perspectives.
This show presents the tools, methods, and philosophies that drive scientific advancement, serving as both an educational bridge and a groundbreaking step in university-level science communication. Its unique segments, like “Serendipity,” dramatize how unexpected events often lead to remarkable scientific discoveries, adding a captivating layer to each episode.
Chemistry or Magic?
Calling all Muggles! Inspired by the curious minds of science classes in the Wizarding World, “Fantastic Substances and where to find them” brings to life the fascinating chemistry behind some of the big screen’s most iconic moments.
Part of Más allá de la Ciencia, an original TV series from Universidad Veracruzana, this series features Dr. Oscar García (Institute of Applied Chemistry) as he uses captivating storytelling with fun chemistry experiments using fantastic substances. From creating clouds for a realistic-looking aerial battle scene as seen in The Aviator, to the chemical composition of colorful fireworks used in V for Vendetta, and how to perform the Wingardium leviosa spell from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Dr. García demonstrates how chemistry powers the magic of the real world.
